Odissey Travel Magazine, headquartered at Via Monteverde n° 246, Rome (Italy), is committed to ensuring that its website, odisseymag.com, is accessible to the widest possible audience, fully in line with Directive (EU) 2019/882 and the implementing regulation on digital accessibility, effective as of June 28, 2025. This declaration covers the entire domain (www.odisseymag.com), including all editorial content and interactive components.
Following our most recent internal assessment, the site is partially compliant with accessibility requirements. While considerable strides have been made, some areas still require enhancement to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. These include images lacking comprehensive alternative text, less-than-optimal color contrast on certain graphical elements, PDFs and downloadable materials that are not yet fully accessible, and dynamic or interactive elements that may not always work smoothly with keyboard navigation or screen readers. Additionally, some multimedia content currently lacks captions or full text transcripts. We are progressively updating and adapting all existing content to ensure greater and ultimately full compliance within the established timeframe.
To enhance accessibility, we have deployed a comprehensive mix of technical and editorial strategies. We integrated the Accessibility Widget by OneTap – Easy One‑Click Accessibility Toolbar, a GDPR-compliant, fully responsive WordPress plugin supporting more than 35 languages, including all EU official languages and English onetap-1-click-accessibility.en.softonic.comwphive.com+3wordpress.org+3wordpress.com+3. This tool allows users to adjust text size, cursor, line height, letter spacing, readable fonts, text alignment, link highlighting, color inversion, brightness, grayscale, reading lines and masks, image hiding—and, where enabled, dyslexic fonts, text magnification, contrast and saturation controls, keyboard navigation aids, title highlighting, and integrated read-aloud (TTS) functionality.
In addition to the widget, our website features a dedicated Text-to-Speech (TTS) system, improved keyboard-only navigation, accessible shortcuts, and simplified editorial language in key areas. PDFs are being verified and remediated for PDF/UA compliance. All enhancements are guided by regular assessments using automated tools such as WAVE, axe DevTools, and the Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker, alongside manual testing—particularly with the NVDA screen reader and keyboard-only navigation.
This statement was formalized on August 15, 2025, following an internal self-assessment that combined both automated and manual accessibility testing. Ongoing monitoring and reviews are conducted by our website manager and editorial team, with biannual evaluations scheduled to maintain and progressively improve compliance.
